Extra Brut Extra Old 4

Veuve Clicquot has one of the largest collections of reserve wines in Champagne, consisting of 400 to 500 wines, some of which are over 30 years old. They are stored by terroir and grape variety, allowing for a vast range of flavors and styles in the blending of non-vintage champagnes.

Expressing the creativity of the cellar master, Didier Mariotti, Extra Brut Extra Old is a collection crafted from a unique blend of reserve wines.

This 4th edition of Extra Brut Extra Old, with 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, and 20% Meunier, is a blend of six of the most prestigious reserve wines from Veuve Clicquot, originating from the years 1996, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2014.

Similar to creating a perfume, the essence of these mature or “spicy” reserve wines brings concentration and depth to the blend.

The wines are aged in bottles in the Veuve Clicquot cellars for at least three years before disgorgement, giving them texture and aromatic complexity. This blend requires a low dosage of 3 grams of sugar per liter. Purity, freshness, salinity, energy, finesse, and precision are the key characteristics of this cuvée, with ageing potential exceeding 15 years.
