Côtes de Gascogne IGP 2024

by the Hauts de Montrouge cellar

Cave des Hauts De Montrouge is located in Nogaro, in the Gers region. Established in 1963, it currently brings together over 55 peasant winemakers who uphold the finest winemaking tradition on more than 1,250 hectares of vineyards. The winemakers practice sustainable agriculture through innovative biocontrol processes. All bottled wines are certified as High Environmental Value 3.

The cellar produces Flocs de Gascogne, Bas Armagnacs, and IGP wines from Côtes de Gascogne, such as the Bird#9 2024 vintage in white.

This 100% Colombard comes from vines with an average age of 15 years, grown in sandy-limy and clayey soils. Pneumatic pressing, total lees settling, cold fermentation, mutage, and ageing on fine lees in stainless steel tanks make it a perfect vintage for immediate consumption (1 to 2 years maximum).

Tasting review

Color: pale yellow with green reflections.
Nose: intense and delicious citrus notes (lemons, mandarins, yuzu).
Palate: lively and straightforward. The citrus aromas perceived on the first nose are accompanied by a indulgent and persistent palate.
Pairing: this fresh and light wine, easy to drink, is ideal for aperitifs and other moments of conviviality.
