Jean-Marc Quarin is an independant critic in Bordeaux who publishes on his website www.quarin.com, and whose marks are used by the biggest European markets among which Liv-ex, the wine stock exchange of London.
We recommend you his Bordeaux wines Guide: 329 crus, 5,500 bottles—tasted 3 times on average―commented and given a mark, of vintages from 1994 to 2010, with marks out of 20 and out of 100, the average prices and consumption dates, a chart showing the qualitative evolution of each estate, with an introduction that gives the keys to understand the Bordeaux vineyard, and the description of a tasting method enabling to make the difference between a well and badly made wine, a fine wine and a good wine.
The Guide has been awarded the Montesquieu Vine and Wine prize and the Nadine de Rothschild prize with these words: “In the name of the jury, I would like to underline the extreme intelligence of the introduction, 50 pages that will mark the history of the knowledge in Bordeaux wines.”
