Château Petit Val Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2014

The wine is clear, bright, moderate ruby colour fading up to almost orange rims, elevated viscosity. At the nose is clean, intense and developing, with notes of black and red fruits aromas, black cherry, plum, dry prune, dry violet, umami, mineral, black pepper, vegetal, black olive, smoke, toasted almond. At the palate is dry, elevated body, fresh, moderate alcohol, elegant tannins, balanced, elevated complexity and great length.
Pairing: coq au vin.
Ageing: 10/15 years.


Château Petit Val Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2015

Clear, bright, moderate ruby colour fading up to orange rims. At the nose is clean, moderate intensity, starting to developing. With notes of dark fruits, cherry, violet, mushroom, spicy, black pepper, toast, lactic notes, vanilla. At the palate is dry, elevated body, fresh, med alcohol, refined tannins, balanced, medium complexity and medium finish. Very shy.
Pairing: entrecote a la bordelaise.
Ageing: 15+ years.

 

Château Petit Val Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2016

Clear, bright, moderate ruby colour fading up to ruby rims, elevated viscosity. At the nose is clean, expressive and youthful, with notes of black cherry, plum, dry prune, cassis, mineral, mushrooms, truffle, dry herbs, sweet leather, tobacco, sweet spices, vanilla, ginger, nutmeg, toasted almond. The palate is dry, elevated body, fresh, med alcohol, elevated but refined tannins, balanced, elevated complexity and great length. Still young, with potential.
Pairing: blanquette de veau.
Ageing: 15+ years.

 

Château Petit Val Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2017

The wine is clear, bright, moderate ruby colour fading up to ruby rims, elevated viscosity. At the nose is clean, medium intensity and youthful, with notes of ripe black fruits, prune, violet. You can feel more the oak notes, Christmas spices, vanilla, toasted, nutty. At the palate is dry, elevated body, fresh, moderate alcohol, fine tannins, balanced, medium complexity and medium finish.
Pairing: baked turbot in red wine sauce.
Ageing: 15+ years.

 

Château Petit Val Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2018

Clear, bright, moderate ruby colour fading up to ruby rims, elevated viscosity. At the nose is clean, medium intensity and youthful, with notes of dark and red fruits, mulberry, cherry, violet, still shy, slightly eucalyptus, spicy, peppery, leather. The oak is well integrated, cloves, nutmeg. At the palate is dry, elevated body, moderate acidity, moderate alcohol, elevated tannins, balanced, medium complexity and great finish.
Pairing: homemade tagliatelle with wild boar sauce.
Ageing: 15/20 years.

 

Château Petit Val Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2019

Clear, bright, moderate ruby colour fading up to ruby rims, elevated viscosity. At the nose is clean, great intensity and youthful, with notes of ripe black fruits, dry prune, plum, black pepper, dark chocolate, coffee, toasted, sweet spices. At the palate is dry, elevated body, fresh, moderate alcohol, elevated and ripe tannins, balanced, medium complexity and elegant finish. Very shy and not showing his real potential.
Pairing: slow cooked lamb shank.
Ageing: 20+ years.

 

Château Petit Val Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2020

Clear, bright, moderate ruby colour fading up to ruby rims, elevated viscosity. At the nose is clean, moderate intensity and youthful, notes of ripe black cherry, dry prune, dry figs, violet, black pepper, sweet spices, cinnamon, chocolate, praline, nutty. The palate is dry, elevated body, elevated acidity, elevated but well integrated alcohol, refined tannins, balanced, medium complexity and beautiful finish. Still so young.
Pairing: dark chocolate praline.
Ageing: 20+ years.
