Launched in 2014, the confidential brand stems from a 23-ha farm, located in the Fins Bois terroir, north of Cognac, making the wine, distilling and ageing its own production of brandies for generations.
With a wealth of old reserves sleeping in their cellars, the idea of creating the brand was born in 2012 by creating an authentic and smooth Cognac to highlight this stock.
The rich flavours and aromas of these Cognacs are the result of an expert construction, which is slowly carried out over the years. Cognacs Pierre Lecat are matured in 400-litre barrels, a distinctive feature of the house that gives the cognac fruitier notes, and makes it rounder, smoother, with more powerful aromas.
Pierre Lecat’s Cognacs are created by a new generation who combines passion with an inherited treasure of knowledge. It has an enchanting colour and brightness. In the nose, its aromas are elegant, refined and of rare complexity; in the mouth, it is smooth and has an astonishing long finish. Fragrant notes also develop, seducing the most demanding tasters.
Turning time into his staunchest ally is Cognac Pierre Lecat’s philosophy. Its best expression is XO “Mémoire”.
Its amber, slightly mahogany colour is perfectly clear. The nose of this XO reveals very supple aromas with flowery scents like jasmine and honeysuckle, and delicate touches of Port and walnut. It then exudes notes of vanilla, oak and chocolate. Lightly spicy, it finishes with candied fruits and gingerbread.
Like velvet, the palate displays a perfect harmony between scents and flavours. Warm in the mouth, it shows a great maturity and concentration. This XO “Mémoire” pays tribute to the art of subtlety and precision of the family of watchmakers. It can be enjoyed plain, even by non-connoisseurs.
