Color: deep garnet, clear and bright, with fine, numerous tears. Nose: small red and black fruit (blackberry, blackcurrant, plum). Notes of chocolate and vanilla. Palate: fine tannic structure, with red fruit and blackcurrant. Lovely freshness, good acidity, pleasing length. Pairing: venison from the Landes; parsnips and chestnuts. Comment: can be drunk now but would benefit from 3-4 years of ageing. A very fine, pleasant wine that is easy to drink.
