The 1883 Drink Design Center is the first of its kind in the world. It is an experiential and multi-disciplinary space for training, creation, research and exchange that will change the universe of the bar.
“The crisis also means changing the bar. From the tea room to the palace, we need to move the mixology lines: that’s what Drink Design and our collective are all about”, explains Loïc Couilloud, CEO Routin.
The Drink Design offers advanced practice in the bartender, mixologist or barista profession. It is an innovative place that merges research, creativity and experience; open to all artists of taste; a place of transmission with a high level of training to know how to work in multidisciplinary brigades and give birth to multi-sensorial concept-drinks.
The Drink Design Center consists of a training centre, a design studio, an R&D laboratory and a Drink Design 1883 bar. This unique space offers the optimal conditions to set new trends and advance the profession in practice.
To have a real impact, 1883 aims to train 200 Drink Designers by 2025. The brand has therefore created an atypical and exclusive 40-hour specialisation course: from eloquence to sensory analysis, including storytelling and staging, bar professionals will enrich their expertise with new skills that will make the difference between a very good cocktail and an immersive and unforgettable experience. The course is delivered by a group of leading international experts and will cover the philosophy, pillars and practices of tomorrow’s mixology.
The first session will take place from 13 to 17 March 2023. A second session will be offered in November 2023.
