On September 9, 2024, Bastien Debono (head sommelier at the hotel-restaurant La Maison Bleue by Yoann Conte), Clément Sommier (consulting sommelier at Berthaudin SA Carouge), and Quentin Vauléon (sommelier at Frevo – USA) emerged as winners of the semi-final of the UDSF Best Sommelier of France competition.
Throughout the day, the candidates competed in challenges led by Jean-Pascal Paubert (Director of the Technical Committee): theoretical questionnaire, interview with a journalist, mixology test, questions on legislation, food and wine pairing, service, and wine faults.
