When Fridolin Meyer starts selling his products in Val de Villé, the quality of his fruit brandies is such that they are soon present on great French and German tables. For a long time, Germany is one of the first customers of the house, although it is one of the most competitive markets in terms of distilleries.
In 1976 the second generation, represented by Jean-Claude Meyer, comes to help in front of growing demand. Together father and son work to make quality fruit brandies until the distillery now has become one of the most awarded in France at the General Agricultural Contest of Paris, with more than 180 medals, mainly gold ones.
In the 2000s, Jean-Claude Meyer embarks on a great adventure. He wants to create a product with a strong regional identity and above all unique, a product that no one has never dared to make before … And in 2007, he launched the Alsatian Whisky Meyer’S. This 100% Alsatian whisky has first surprised and was a real bomb. Successful challenge for Jean-Claude Meyer, his Whisky got a mark of 88.5 out of 100 in Jim Murray’s whisky bible!
The distillery Meyer proposes more than thirty varieties: the pear is undoubtedly the queen of its brandies, after kirsch, damson, mirabelle plum, but also rarer varieties with more exotic scents and aromas like elderberry, mountain ash, quince … They also have classic liqueurs like peach, raspberry, but also more original ones: gingerbread or violet …
And of course the Alsatian whiskies Meyer’S: a superior blend that is a perfect balance between grain whisky and malted barley whisky; a Single Malt 100% malted barley. All crafted in the stills of German technology. Three copper giants have been made to measure for the distillery F. Meyer in 2004. They perfectly combine modernity and tradition, using the classic model of a still allied with the performance of a computer that helps the distiller to maximize his distillation, in order to get the most possible finesse in his fruit brandies and whiskies.
Now Jean-Claude’s two sons, Arnaud et Lionel, have taken over the family still and enthusiastically distil fruits and grains to delight the fine spirit lovers. With this innovative philosophy and continuous quest for quality, the Meyer brothers broadened their range and present two new absolutely divine spirits:

100% Alsatian Pastis

Only made with aniseed, fennel, star anise and liquorice, it is perfect for the aperitif added with fresh water. This well-made pastis, slightly different from the classic pastis, reveals on the palate the fresh­ness of the aniseed and the liquorice that will satisfy the connoisseurs!

Alsaquina

The aperitif to discover soon, only made from red wine, macerated red cinchona, macerated bitter orange and gentian. In the mouth, Alsaquina unveils intense notes of red fruits in brandy, strawberry, star anise, pepper, cloves. A symphony of delicate flavours!
