xavier thuizat, winner of the Sommelier Award in the Michelin Guide 2024

On March 18, 2024, Xavier Thuizat,
head sommelier of the Hôtel de Crillon,
A Rosewood Hotel, and Sommelier Rosewood Europe, was awarded the prestigious Sommelier Award from the Michelin Guide.

Xavier Thuizat has worked in prestigious gastronomic institutions such as Relais Bernard Loiseau, Le Meurice, Pierre Gagnaire, and the Peninsula. In 2023, he was awarded the titles of Best Sommelier of France and Meilleur Ouvrier de France. The Michelin Guide's Sommelier Award thus solidifies his remarkable career.

The head sommelier stands out for his expertise and skills, notably contributing to the development of the hotel's cellar, which is one of the richest in France with over 2,500 references. He continues to lead the wine and spirits program at the Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel, while also highlighting those from the Rosewood group's European portfolio.

Originally from Burgundy and a proponent of authentic and generous sommellerie, he is also one of the greatest connoisseurs of sake and is the third Frenchman to join the highly exclusive circle of Saké Samurais, designated by His Excellency the Ambassador of Japan to France.
