Visual aspect: quite a deep ruby-red hue and gleaming tinges.
Nose: aromatic, scents of vanilla and red fruit.
Palate: pure first taste, development on tightly-knit tannin. Flavours of blackberry, bilberry and vanilla. It remains well balanced despite a woody finish which is also slightly drying.
Match with food: grilled red meats.
Comments: marvellously characteristic of its Appellation. A 1ère Côtes de Blaye that we like very much.
