Vinarte

the revival of Romanian wines

“The wine is the poetry of the earth. Vinarte, in the three renowned domains it owns—CASTEL BOLOVANU, STARMINA and ZORESTI—suggested to collect these ‘lines’ and to gather them in a ‘collection’. We mixed the tradition and the remarkable potential of our vineyards with the technique of modern wine making, without neglecting the ‘human genius’ who produces them, in the hope we managed to contribute to the birth of a new generation of Romanian wines. The scope of our success can only be acknowledged by those who taste our wines on which our specialists left their mark.”

SERGIO FALESCHINI

Chairman of Vinarte

Stemming from an Italian family from Friuli who emigrated to Romania in 1936, Sergio Faleschini, knowing perfectly well this country as well as its wine making potential with unique terroirs, began the adventure VINARTE in 1998 with French and Italian partners. They acquired in the same time 3 estates: ZORESTI, BOLOVANU and STARMINA.
They had to completely reconstruct the vineyards on approximately 400 hectares by clearing and replanting noble vines adapted to the terroir of each domain. The vinification centres, almost in ruin, were completely renovated and equipped with the highest technology.

The moments of happiness and blooming came after several years, when the first wines signed “Prince Matei”, “Prince Mircea” and “Soare” began to be appreciated. It was a real revolution on the Romanian and international market. Their passion and their perseverance were rewarded at last.
By giving its wines grand names: Prince Matei, Soare, Castel Bolovanu, Prince Mircea and Castel Starmina, VINARTE asserted itself not only as a producer of wines but as a real pioneer; a model of quality with a worldwide recognition thanks to the numerous medals and prizes won in prestigious contests.
