Special wine fair for ASI’s 50th anniversary at Les Halles du Boulingrin in Reims

17/12/2019

Because 50 years are celebrated only once, SommelierS International had to be present for this great event in the sommellerie world. For its anniversary, Association de la Sommellerie Internationale wanted a unique and extraordinary place. It chose Halles du Boulingrin in Reims, a historic and classified building. Since their inauguration in 1929, they have been an integral part of the city’s identity thanks to their modern architecture and structure which, following the First World War, symbolizes the future.

What better than a place steeped in history to celebrate those who have been working for years to promote these great nectars of wine, beer, liquor, sake and spirits.

During this special day, 650 visitors meet a whole range of producers and houses present to discover the vastness and richness of French and foreign terroirs. Alsace, Beaujolais, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Corsica, Languedoc-Roussillon, Provence, South West, Loire Valley, Rhone Valley but also Spain and Israel have unveiled their finest bottles and accessories.

Encounters also during the 18 masterclasses that successfully took place throughout the day.

The day ended in a very friendly atmosphere like a harvesters’ meal with visitors and exhibitors enjoying the famous Champagne hotpot, followed of course by the birthday cake.

SommelierS International would like to thank everyone who participated in the organization of this event, in particular the students of the vocational school of Bazeilles and their teachers Mr. Delalain and Mr. Demoulin.
