Visual aspect: quite a bold black hue with dark-purple tinges. Nose: scents of roasting the level of toasting of the barrel overpowers any fruit aromas. Palate: the powerful, austere tannins are slightly tightly-knit. Maturation hints dominate good substance. Flavours of black fruit, as well as a hint of damp wood and unripe walnut. Match with food: beef or wild boar casserole. Comment: slightly excessive maturation rather overpowers this wine, which is otherwise very pleasant.
