In front of a large audience, and of a professional jury, the three finalists (Hotel Baur au Lac, Zurich), Reza Nahaboo (Hotel Royal Savoy, Lausanne) and Fabien Mène (Hotel Mandarin Oriental, Geneva) took the final tests: service of a Champagne according the rules; food and wine pairing exercise over a compulsory menu, the jury favouring original proposals of Swiss wines without mentioning twice the same canton; decanting, then correction of a wine list in a foreign language. For the second part of the competition, tasting and oral comment of three wines, identification of 5 brandies and spirits and at last general culture questions.

Prime organizer ‘Association Suisse des Sommeliers Professionnels’ (ASSP) can be proud of the success of this contest among the spectators stemming from the gastronomy and hotel industry.
