Château de Tracy

A centuries-old wine tradition

An ancestral vineyard

Château de Tracy belongs to the same family since the 14th century. A manuscript of 1396 kept in the archives of the estate reports the purchase of Champs de Crix. Nowadays this plot of land is still planted with Sauvignon and represents the keystone of its terroir.

The 33-hectare wine estate stretches over the hillock of Château de Tracy (with flint soils) and on the plateau of Vilmoy some kilometers away from Pouilly-sur-Loire (Kimmeridgian limestone).

A work philosophy

Château de Tracy seeks precision in its wines by reproducing as faithfully and sincerely as possible the authenticity of the soils they stem from.

For more than 20 years they have been practising a wine growing that respects the balance of the plant. They favour the resources and mechanisms of natural control of the ecosystem as well as non-polluting farming methods.

Thanks to this approach respectful of the ecosystems, their biodiversity and the well-being of the plants, the domain has been awarded the label of High Environmental Value Level 3 in 2014, thus recognizing the use of beneficial farming practices for many years.

The Château de Tracy wines,
four concentrates of terroir

Mademoiselle de T

Stemming from the youngest vines, Mademoiselle T is a very delicate and moreish Pouilly-Fumé. Here the Sauvignon fully expresses, mingling varietal aromas (blackcurrant buds) and notes of lemon, white-fleshed fruits or pepper. The palate is first round, then displays a beautiful material.

Château de Tracy

It is the historical cuvee of the chateau showing balance between limestone soils (for the volume and the flesh) and flint terroirs (finesse, minerality).

A gastronomic wine par excellence in which the Sauvignon unveils a both dense and precise material that rightly mingles exotic and orchard fruits with typical scents of white blossom. A mineral wine with a salty finish.

Haute Densité

This wine stems from a small plot planted on Kimmeridgian limestone soils. The very high plant density of 17,000 stocks per hectare significantly increases competition between the vine stocks, thus leading the roots to develop deep in the ground to draw their resources. This Sauvignon is dense, concentrated, very full. An excellent wine to lay down.

101 Rangs

101 Rangs is the result of a big selection in the oldest plot of the estate. The production is clearly confidential with 1,500 to 2,000 bottles according to the vintage (only 1,386 in 2014). The flintstone terroirs endow the Sauvignon with a rare nobility and the wines it makes unveil grand finesse and minerality. The textures are pure and delicate, very clear. This is a wine with an outstanding ageing potential.
