It is with great sadness that we learned that Gérard Basset passed away yesterday morning. We all knew he was suffering, and we all hoped that his toughness and his mental power would enable him to win this competition for life. Unfortunately the disease has been stronger. May he rest in peace now.
The whole team of SommelierS International will keep of him the great memory of someone humble despite his career and his many titles, extremely kind, such a fabulous pedagogue when sharing his knowledge.
