La Quintinye

the revival of royal vermouth

Jean-Sébastien Robicquet, oenologist and master distiller, founder of Eurowinegate Spirits and Wine (EWG), presents La Quintinye – 1st Vermouth made in Charente. “Vermouth comes back on the forefront. It has been reinvented due in general to a ‘vintage’ movement and above all, the cocktail trend.”

Born in the heart of the vineyards of Charente, and crafted with the finest ingredients including Pineau des Charentes, La Quintinye Vermouth Royal is an elegant and refined vermouth of exquisite quality and taste. This unique Vermouth was named after Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinye, botanist of King Louis XIV, the Sun King. This visionary gardener and botanist, born in 1624 in the Charente region, was entrusted in the early 1660s by Louis XIV with the mission to create the vegetable and botanical gardens of the Château de Versailles. Completely sharing these values of excellence and the innovative spirit this iconic figure embodies, the house EWG chose to pay tribute to him.
La Quintinye Vermouth Royal is an expert blend of Pineau des Charentes and white wines from the South West of France, selected by Jean-Sébastien Robicquet with the greatest care. This unique composition weaves a canvas on which the plants and spices can fully express. While La Quintinye Extra-Dry and White are made with white wines and white Pineau des Charentes, La Quintinye Rouge uses red Pineau des Charentes, naturally providing the deep intense colour. The exclusive use of Pineau des Charentes provides fullness and intensity through its aromas in perfect balance with the bitterness of the plants. Rigorously selected for their purity and aromatic properties, 12 plants and spices make up the palette shared by the three products. Each variant is then complemented with a specific selection. In total, 28 plants and spices compose La Quintinye Rouge, 18 make the white variety and 27 are used in La Quintinye Extra Dry.
Each bottle of La Quintinye Vermouth Royal bears the portrait of Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinye with his gardens in the background. Surrounding the fleur-de-lys, the symbol of the French Royalty, the label is illustrated with botanical drawings in a 16th-century style, representing wormwood (essential for Vermouth), vine flower (the signature of the company), iris and angelica roots, characteristic Charente plants. La Quintinye Vermouth Royal is the spirit of the gourmets who appreciate excellence. This Vermouth will sublimate your cocktails, its exceptional quality also makes it an ideal to discover plain on the rocks.

5 reasons to love La Quintinye:
• Its origin and roots in a historical region of tradition.
• Its exclusive composition blending selected wines and Pineau des Charentes.
• Its aromatic range composed of 12 plants and spices.
• Its grape eau-de-vie preserving the sweetness of the wines.
• Its natural colour stemming from the original Pineau des Charentes colour.
“We strive to create exceptional spirits. La Quintinye innovates in a traditional category, it belongs to the French luxury products because of its history, its crafting and its unique components”, Jean-Sébastien Robicquet said.
