Cognac Park

Nobility, elegance and purity

In the 11th century, Count of Poitou sold to his cousin Viscount Hugues Maingot a part of his lands, making him Lord of Surgères, whose family motto since then was “Post Tenebras Spero Lucem” which means “After the darkness,
I expect light” after translation from Latin. One of his daughters, Laetitia, was going to become the icon of Distillery Tessendier's legendary roots by marrying
Pierre Tessendier. The history
then becomes a legend.

Their son Gaston purchases Le Buisson in 1862 as well as other lands and plots which complement the estate, thus building up the current domain. He enthusiastically learns to work the vines. His son took over the reins, initiating himself to the practices of distillation and ageing. Once this prodigious know-how had been fully transmitted, the third generation Tessendier perfectly mastered the blending and became “Cognac Creator”.
In the middle of the region's prestigious vineyards, time became the ally of this dynasty who knew how to enrich, in the continuity, the artisanal, rich and valorous character of its unique productions. In the cellars on the banks of the river Charente, the traditional oak barrels shelter the slow maturation of the carefully blended brandies, the secret alchemy giving birth to the Cognacs Park, in tribute to the one who, native from Scotland, once dreamt of a noble and racy Cognac with subtle elegance whose bottles would bear his name and his coat of arms.
Jérôme and Lilian Tessendier, Cellar Masters of the fourth generation, keep on building up the firm and endow in their turn, with an exemplary expertise, the Art of blending that they practice in duet with enthusiast fervour.
Their complementary visions of the profession, as much as their special approach of tasting, permit to optimize the synergic work at the benefits of the inimitable style of the House's products. Out of their huge range of brandies, Jérôme and Lilian subtly blend, stage after stage, feelings after emotions, up to three hundred every year to create one and only exceptional Cognac whose rarity is only equalled by the exclusive originality. A unique style, a unique spirit, a unique signature which they vouch for such as the guardians of the history and durability of this beautiful House.
Drawing the crafting secrets handed down like a precious legacy from the sources of a remarkable know-how, the House Tessendier & Fils knew to display sense of tradition and modern spirit to market worldwide its prestigious brandies. Proposed by the best cellars and renowned tables, the Cognacs Park now are fully part of the well-informed connoisseurs' daily life, receptive to the magic of a truly exceptional moment, a continuously renewed pleasure.
Because the Park lover, far from the clichés which would make of him a common person, and sensitive to extreme quality, seeks for the precious instant of a solitary tasting or the conviviality of a moment shared with friends, to appreciate the intensity of a Cognac Park, delicate like the Borderies, complex like the XO or dense like a Vieille Grande Champagne.
