Champagne Henriot :
An enchanting cruise
along the Seine…Two centuries of existence for the family-owned firm Champagne Henriot, now one of the rare, wholly independent Champagne Houses, which proudly asserts this fact…

Seven generations later, the very discreet firm Henriot began a world tour of its most ardent admirers; those who perceive the exception of Henriot and its champagnes, so many wines whose unceasing creativity, here, is nurtured by fantasy and audacity. Henriot’s aim is to find balance in relative simplicity, devoid of ostentatious luxury, simply inventiveness at the service of proven skill.
The belle of the ball that evening was the “Cuvee des Enchanteleurs”, presented in magnums in the 1995, 1989, 1988 and1976 vintages, served with food and flavours prepared and conceived by Pierre Gagnaire, whose special talent lies in using a particular theme or type of produce to find a way of creating emotion and providing pleasure. We are not talking about gastronomically correct: we are at the school of instinct, spontaneity, and risk-taking – life itself in fact! It is an understatement to say that where gourmandise exists the restaurant sector truly requires a little fantasy!
In the same way as still wines, champagne is now becoming an essential accompaniment to food. To convey this message of “consuming well”, what other alternative for this free-thinking Champagne House than to bring together a group of wine critics and wine lovers? Out of the question to maintain the unbearable indifference of our elected representatives to this part of French heritage, which some could only describe quite unambiguously as the pleasure of finding once again a “certain way of enjoying life” à la française!

Cuvées des Enchanteleurs :

1995: of a rare elegance, charming, even aristocratic…
1989: more mineral, that maturity has rendered extremely concentrated on the palate.
1988: elegant, an astounding sensation of purity.
1976: magnificent champagne that possesses remarkable aromas and flavours, characteristic of Henriot Champagne, but with the 1976 vintage they seem completely fresh.Anne-Marie Nouaille
